Part of the prestigious Barcelo Group of hotels, the 3 star Hotel Ponent Playa has an enviable location overlooking the Cala Ferrera beach in the popular resort of Cala d'or on the southern east coast of Majorca. Built in 1974 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern Hotel Barcelo Ponent Playa has a total of 430 guest rooms, including 388 standard twin rooms and a further 42 singles, which are distributed between two 7 storey buildings and set amidst almost 2,000m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a central pool area.

The Hotel Ponent Playa also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
